Interactive Web Portfolio

Richard Kingston has designed and developed websites for over ten years. While he learned a lot at the Art Institute of Dallas and the University of Central Oklahoma, he is always pleasantly surprised at how much he continues to learn. Richard graduated from both colleges with honors and a total of three Bachelor's Degrees in Interactive Web Design, Graphic Arts and Theatre Design. He did an internship with the CW33/KDAF in Dallas which helped prepare him for his first career at Belo Corp./Gannett doing support with 38 local television stations nationwide. Working with the Clickability and Presto CMSs, he created web pages and sections, contest pages which worked with on-air promotions, Flash ads to promote company products, mobile forms, a much more. He comunicated and worked with numerous third-party vendors, site managers and coworkers to complete projects on time. He also created mock-ups and system documentation to trained co-workers, new employees and site managers on various systems and programs.

First Web Marketing

With the shift to First Web Marketing, an SEO firm based in Ft. Worth, Richard became the lead designer doing not only website designs, but logos, postcards, brochures and web graphics. He is a team player, great communicater, has a positive attitude and strives to stay on top of new industry trends.

Logos

Richard took classes in school for graphic design, but it wasn't until his position at First Web Marketing, that he got hands-on experience creating logos for clients. Below are examples of final logo designs. View all here.

Belo/Tegna

Belo Corp. was acquired by Tegna in 2013 and Richard was kept on during the process. In a corporate environment, Richard got a great handle on the steps of design. He created wireframes, used branding color pallets to create mockups and made revisions to design and layouts throughout the approval process.

Awards

Richard Kingston worked with a great team at Belo Corp. Two different projects done with KENS5, San Antonio were nominated for Lone Star Emmy Awards. The team won the first year he was involved in 2011 under the category for Interactivity. The second year, they got received a nomination for their work.

Freelance

Throughout his career as a interactive media designer, Richard has had the opportunity to work on several side projects. He worked closely with his clients to guarantee 100% satisfaction on the websites he designed and built out.

Artwork

Richard Kingston first went to college for art, drawing, painting, and sculpting. He intially minored in Theatre Design, but after doing props for two years, ended up graduating from UCO with honors and a double major. He won several scholarships and awards for his work in both areas.
