web designs

While I have a background in Fine Arts and Theatre Design, I am taking that knowledge a step further and applying it to web design. Through the course of attending the Art Intstitute of Dallas, I have learned much about design and coding for web and multimedia.

This was something that was new to me as I entered AiDallas, but I quickly found that building web sites is something that I not only enjoy, but something for which I have a passion.

I try to keep my designs eclectic to show a wide range of what I am capable of doing. I still feel, however, that I have a strong design voice in my work.

When first designing a site, I gather information from my clients. This includes branding, color schemes, layout ideas, page content, etc.

I also ask clients to show me (give me URLs) of sites they do AND don't like. This helps give me an idea of page elements and structure to use in my design. I work with them to decide how many pages will be included in the site and what type of functionality my clients want.

I then create color comps to show the client and find out what they like and don't like from each before creating my final look.

MastBrothersChocolate.com

MastBrothersChocolate.com

Taking the content from their site and photos from the article, I did a redesign. This is not their actual site, just something I put together for practice. The site was created entirely in Flash.

ChiGallery.com

Chi-NRG.com

I went to a surprise party in Oklahoma City in 2009 held in a great space in the Historic District. I was so inspired by the artwork, layout, decorating and design that I put this mockup site to pitch to the owner. Eventhough she loved my design, Corey had just purchased a template site, hosting and URL bundle. I was able to help her push what she had already paid for live. HTML, CSS, Flash.
