My name is Richard Kingston, and I am currently a student at the Art Institute of Dallas majoring in Multimedia and Web Design.
Originally born in El Paso, Texas, my family soon got orders for Germany. While stationed there, I had the opportunity to travel all over Europe and experience many different cultures and customs.
After high school, I went to college at the University of Central Oklahoma where I earned a BFA degree in Graphic Arts and one in Theatre Design. I also graduated cum laude.
Originally, I had planned to paint works of art until I was discovered by a large gallery. From there, I would become rich and famous and retire to Italy where I could paint as I sat looking out onto the ocean. That approach just wasn't hands-on enough for me.
While talking to a friend, I realized that much of what I wanted to do (character design, animation, comic book art) was moving towards computer skill sets and not just the hand skills that I already had. So, I made a move to Dallas and enrolled in the Art Institute.
Now coming up on graduation, I realize that I have worked hard to gain a great skill set, not only for creating web sites, but also for design in general. I work well in groups, but am definitely self-motivating. I have a great sense of composition and a good eye for detail.
I find I am an easy guy to get along with and always try to maintain a positive outlook on life. I'm a hard worker and always open to new approaches and ideas. I have found a career in a field that I love. I see the direction that this industry is heading in, and I am happy to be a part of it.
